Three individuals riding bikes fired shots outside the establishments of two real estate agents in Nangloi and Alipur on November 4th.
Two members of the notorious Gogi gang, one of whom is a minor, were apprehended by the Delhi Police in a clash one day following the shooting occurrences at the offices of two real estate agents in Nangloi and Alipur.
Additional CP (Crime Branch) Sanjay Bhatia announced that in a confrontation in Narela, the Crime Branch detained Akash Rathore, 18, a skilled shooter, and captured his 17-year-old partner.
The police reported that three men on motorcycles fired shots outside a property dealer’s shop in Nangloi at 1:30 pm on November 4, followed by a similar incident in Alipur at 3 pm.
Outside the Nangloi shop, a note referencing the Jitender Gogi gang and its late member Kuldeep Fajja was found, as reported by a police officer.
CP Bhatia provided further details, mentioning that Rathore confessed during questioning that they belonged to the Gogi gang and conducted the shootings in Nangloi and Alipur as a strategy for their extortion activities.
Bhatia revealed that they were following the instructions of renowned criminals Yogesh, also known as Tunda, and Monty Maan, in conjunction with their cohort Ram Niwas, also known as Mogli. Additionally, a stolen scooter and a high-tech pistol with three live cartridges were seized during the operation.
After the shooting incidents, an investigation was initiated by a team headed by ACP Vivek Tyagi from the Crime Branch and overseen by DCP Satish Kumar. The team meticulously scrutinized technical and manual evidence, such as CCTV footage, leading to the identification of the individuals responsible for both shootings.
At 8.15 pm, acting on a tip-off, the team detained the two shooters.
An officer reported that a short gunfight ensued as the suspects attempted to flee.
Bhatia recounted the event where the suspects, upon spotting the police, tried to escape. One of them brandished a gun towards the officers, leading to a swift reaction. Amidst the peril, Head constable Narender courageously confronted the armed suspect, while Sub-Inspector Ajit and his team captured the other suspect.
