The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official statement denying reports that it plans to reduce the syllabus for Class 10 and 12 board exams by 15% for 2025. The Board also clarified that there are no plans to conduct open-book examinations for selected subjects, as suggested in some media reports.
What the Board said:
“With reference to the news about a 15% syllabus reduction for Class 10 and 12 in the 2025 board examinations by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the conduct of open-book exams in select subjects, which various online news portals and newspapers have published, CBSE clarifies that it has not made any changes to its examination system or internal assessment system. No official notification has been issued regarding these claims. Therefore, CBSE refutes the aforementioned news,” the official statement said.
CBSE also informed that any information regarding policy changes is released by the Board through the official website and circulars. Hence, the general public is advised to avoid misleading news.
