This move marks a significant step toward Trump’s goal of streamlining government operations and reducing inefficiencies.

They will collaborate with the Office of Management and Budget to “drive large-scale structural reform.” Furthermore, as Trump emphasized, their goal is to “create an entrepreneurial approach to government never seen before.

He further stated that DOGE—an acronym resembling the name of the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which Musk actively promotes—was “potentially ‘The Manhattan Project’ of our time.” By making this comparison, he emphasizes the ambitious scale and transformative potential he envisions for the initiative, suggesting that it could bring about a revolutionary shift in government operations.

This was in reference to the US’s plan to build the atomic bomb that helped end World War Two.

He stated their work would finish by July 4, 2026, aiming to deliver a smaller, more efficient government as a “gift” for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, marking a key transformation in the U.S. government’s structure.
