Diddy facing legal action
Diddy was reportedly sued by Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, who alleged that the rapper sexually assaulted him at a sex gathering in 1997. Derrick, a former bartender in Detroit, stated that he met Diddy, who subsequently invited him to a party at a hotel. He mentioned that Diddy offered him a drink with an undisclosed substance that caused him to pass out. Derrick recounted waking up to find Diddy engaging in sexual activities with a woman beside him, with the rapper allegedly declaring, “I did the same to you!”
Diddy is being sued by Derrick for allegedly colluding with the US government to conceal his illegal activities. The lawsuit filed by Derrick demands $400 million in compensation from Diddy.
Title: Diddy’s Reaction Towards Accusations of Sexual Assault
Court records obtained by InTouch reveal that Diddy refutes the accusations. According to the 54-year-old and his legal representatives, Derrick is a habitual pro se litigator, frequently initiating legal actions. Diddy deems the claims against him as baseless and absurd. His lawyer pointed out the incredulous nature of Derrick’s allegations, as they pertain to incidents in two distinct counties on the same day, outlined in separate complaints filed in different courts. Additionally, Diddy’s legal counsel asserts that the statute of limitations for the alleged offense lapsed in 2000, rendering the lawsuit invalid.
Diddy finds himself in custody at the moment, having been apprehended on September 16 on allegations related to sex trafficking and racketeering. Despite the charges leveled against him, the rapper has maintained his plea of not guilty. The commencement of his trial is scheduled for the upcoming year.
