Diwali, the vibrant festival of lights, is set to be commemorated on October 31 this year. An exclusive trading window for Diwali Muhurat Trading will open from 6 p.m. and extend up to 7 p.m. the following day.
The stock markets will observe closure of regular trading activities during the Diwali festival, while a brief one-hour special trading window will be available in the evening.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced today that a unique live trading session is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024, in observance of Muhurt trading on Diwali. During this event, regular trading activities will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm, with the trade modification deadline set for 7:10 pm, according to the NSE.
On November 1, the Bombay Stock Exchange will conduct special Muhurat Trading, as noted on its website. However, the exchange has yet to announce the specific timings for the session.
According to NSE guidelines, transactions involving the purchase or sale of stocks in the special Diwali Muhurat trading session must be finalized in accordance with standard trading day procedures. Post-trading activities entail both the buyer and seller meeting their obligations, wherein the buyer makes payment for the stocks and the seller ensures their delivery in adherence to regular settlement regulations.
Within this single hour timeframe, investors submitted orders for stocks based on their own beliefs of auspiciousness and potential for favorable returns.
