Explore the design, characteristics, and color options of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin.

Driving the Classic 650 Twin is the reliable 648cc parallel-twin engine, which generates a consistent 47hp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. Just like the other RE 650 models, this one also features a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The internal ratios and final drive gearing on the Classic 650 Twin mirror those of the Shotgun 650.

The Classic 650 Twin shares many components with the Shotgun 650 in terms of its foundation. Both bikes sport identical main frames, brake systems, twin shock absorbers, and swingarms. However, distinguishing the Classic 650 Twin are its 19/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and the 43mm telescopic fork. Furthermore, the Classic 650 Twin is equipped with new MRF Nylohigh tires in sizes 100/90-19 for the front and 140/70-R18 at the rear. It boasts similar suspension capabilities to the Shotgun, offering 120mm of travel at the front and 90mm at the rear.

The Classic 650 Twin, weighing 243kg, stands out as the heftiest option among Royal Enfield motorcycles. Boasting a capacious 14.8 litre tank, it features the largest fuel capacity in the RE 650 range, excluding the Super Meteor. Its seat height is positioned at 800mm, while offering a generous 154mm of ground clearance.

The larger Classic 650 model features an identical digi-analogue display to its smaller counterpart, now equipped with a gear position indicator and includes the Tripper navigation pod as a standard feature. Additionally, adjustable brake and clutch levers come pre-installed from the manufacturer.

Royal Enfield enthusiasts may remember that the latest offering includes four color choices: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. The Black Chrome and Teal options, previously featured on the original UCE Classic models, are making a return with the introduction of the 650 Twin.

The anticipated presentation of the Classic 650 Twin by Royal Enfield is scheduled to take place at the MotoVerse biking festival towards the end of this month, with plans for an official launch in India set for February 2025.
